The best part about South Beach is the beautiful weather, people and food. The worst part is getting there.
On top of flying (I missed my flight due to the influx of people in Austin for South by South West), my least favorite part of any trip is packing for it – but I did pick a few good outfits.
I was originally supposed to spend six days in Miami, but just like your typical love story.. I fell head over heels and had to stay an extra two.
Wednesday: My sister said "be ready for the beach," so I grabbed something comfortable enough for travel & easy enough to take off & switch into a bathing suit.
On the first day, after my second attempted flight, I wore a comfortable midi dress from Urban Outfitters.
I picked up this hat from the Red Dot Boutique, aka Target. Unfortunately my head is so large, I wasn't sure how it'd look on me, but it worked. I felt like I was living in Miami, but probably still looked exactly the tourist I was.
Thursday: On my first full day, my younger sister and I took a stroll down Lincoln Road. I just had to stop at Aldo – among many other shops. In typical Samantha fashion, I went in for jewelry and came out with new sunnies. I was drawn to this pair because they're so unique and fashion forward. I also love that they're super inexpensive.
These were bought in perfect timing because my sister & I were headed to the beach!
Friday: Another day next to the water? Why not! And what trip to the beach would be complete without..
Saturday: I enjoyed a little bit of dock life. Unfortunately we weren't able to get on the water, but we made the best of it. Plus, I'm easy. Give me champagne and I'm happy.
I absolutely adore this dress from LuLu's.com – also worn in this blog. It makes the perfect outfit for brunch or swimsuit cover up.
Note: I still can't believe LuLu's.com chose me as their #LoveLuLus winner of the week for posting this photo. Each winner receives a $200 shopping spree for tagging LuLu's with their hashtag on Instagram. I cannot wait to share with you what I purchased!
I couldn't help myself and had to go back & get these sunnies from Aldo. Super stylish and the blue reflection went perfectly with my sundress.
Sunday: There are only two occasions I can get away with wearing all white – my birthday and Miami. And I took that opportunity for Sunday Brunch at the Setai hotel.
The Setai hotel takes brunch to a new level. All inclusive, beautiful buffet, with all you can drink champagne. I was in heaven.
Monday: I went off of South Beach & over the bridge to see a dear friend of mine. My favorite part about catching up was our beautiful view of the pool.
If you know me well, I am a sucker for a nice pool view and may never leave it's side.
..which is exactly why I stayed a few extra days.
Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday: These days were all perfectly the same. Rosé all day, enjoying champagne by the water.
On the last day: I couldn't have asked for a better week in Miami with my friends & family, feeling fabulous as ever.
One day I plan to make this gorgeous city my home. Sam Loves South Beach? It has a nice ring to it.
